Sunday School for Kids

Children are very important to us at St Matthias. We want to welcome children into our church family and teach them about who Jesus is by providing age-appropriate activities which will be both instructive and fun.

Each Sunday morning (in conjunction with
church at 9.30am) we run a full children’s programme for babies right up to kids in year 8 at high school. All of our Sunday School teachers receive thorough training and certification in safe ministry practices and child protection (click here for more information).

Creche: Babies
  • Babies aged 0-2 years are cared for in a properly supervised crèche (located in the Barnabas Centre right next door to the church building) whilst their parents are in church
     Tickles: Preschool – Year 2
  • Two preschool classes are held for non-school aged children (one class for 3 year olds, another for 4 year olds)
  • Once children begin school they move into Sunday School classes according to their year groups (Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2)
  • Every class has two teachers and they meet in the Barnabas Centre (located right next door to the church building)
    Tackles: Year 3 – Year 6
